Grandma has NO computer skills but loves the ease in which she is transfering old family negatives into new digital pics, for the young gerenation to view and explore. Would highly recommend this as a gift for the older person that has everything, and time to enjoy their memories again, brush off the dust on the negitatives and get into it.

Comments about 35mm Film Scanner with 6cm (2.4 ) Colour LCD Screen Convert your Negatives and Slides to Digital Files:
After reading the instructions (something I never do), I thought I would just scan a few slides to see if I could master the thing. Six and a half hours later, I have scanned every slide I possess and every negative. Not as time consuming as I first thought and not boring at all. I wouldn't mind if it was my full time job. The little scanner is easy to operate and the results are spectacular. One of the budget purchases I have made, that really works and does all it should easily. Truely a great product.

Comments about 35mm Film Scanner with 6cm (2.4 ) Colour LCD Screen Convert your Negatives and Slides to Digital Files:
Have used the slide scanner with very acceptable results. There is some reduced brightness around the edges but it does not cause any problems. Many of my colour slides are starting to fade badly. For the price this is a great way of converting them to digital. It is so simple and quick to use. I doubt that you could get anything better without paying an absolute fortune for professional gear.

I had hundreds, maybe thousands, of slides that never saw the light of day - mostly of my kids growing up and our family holidays. Now they are all on computer, I can see them whenever I like and share them with my children and grandchildren. It was so easy. I wish I'd had this scanner a long time ago.

Comments about 35mm Film Scanner with 6cm (2.4 ) Colour LCD Screen Convert your Negatives and Slides to Digital Files:
The product delivered exactly what we wanted. The screen made it all the easier to use. You can only process three slides or negatives at one time so if you have a lot to do it takes a while. At least you are viewing the slides at the same time. We used slides which were 50 years old and the results were brilliant.

A:
The film holder is designed for 35mm film, but smaller film will fit so long as it is held in place, e.g. by temporarily using sticky tape if it moves around. Once scanned, you will need to crop the image, using an image editor like Photoshop or GIMP, to remove the surrounding white space.Answered on 6/5/2010 by DXScanner from Melbourne, VIC
