Starting in 1962 Sonya Rykiel created knitwear pieces for the boutique Laura and by doing so she gave birth to her signature style: the pullover. In May 1968, Sonya Rykiel founded her label and opened her first boutique in Paris.

By abolishing the diktats of a total look in favour of a wardrobe adapted to each woman's personal style, Sonya Rykiel created a unique style that is recognisable around the world.
