Yamaha

Yamaha

Yamaha was established in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha, and initially exclusively manufactured pianos and reed organs.

Since then, Yamaha has grown into the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments, as well as branching out into other entertainment products, computer products, home appliances, industrial robots, etc.

Despite the variety of fields in which Yamaha now specializes, the company's musical heritage is still reflected in its logo – a trio of tuning forks.

Yamaha further added to its impressive music portfolio by acquiring one of the oldest and most famous piano manufacturers in the world, Bösendorfer, in 2007.

The Yamaha Motor Co., famous for motorbikes like the R1, is a division of the same company.
